BOX TRUCK DRIVER

Job Overview As a Box Truck Driver, you’ll transport and deliver freight safely and reliably, helping customers receive their goods on schedule. You’ll plan routes with GPS navigation, inspect your vehicle and cargo, and coordinate loading and unloading at each stop. This paid position requires safe driving practices and careful handling of freight. Responsibilities Drive a box truck on local routes and, when assigned, over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Complete delivery driving tasks, follow route plans, and communicate about delays or delivery issues. Inspect the vehicle and cargo before, during, and after trips; secure freight to prevent shifting or damage. Load and unload shipments using safe manual handling practices and approved equipment. Maintain delivery and vehicle records in line with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Skills Required: Valid license and qualifications for the assigned vehicle, safe driving habits, and ability to handle loading and unloading tasks. Preferred: Delivery driver experience, commercial truck driving, truck driving, commercial driving, route driving, manual transmission, and logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, automobile transportation, and freight is helpful. Knowledge of hazmat (hazardous materials), dangerous goods, and applicable hazardous materials regulations is preferred. Experience with GPS navigation and DOT/FMCSA requirements is an asset.
