Position: Independent Contractor (1099) Route Details $320 per completed route. Approximately 8-hour routes. 70–100 miles per route. Approximately 30 - 50 packages daily. Morning pickup time: 2:00 PM. Job Overview We are seeking dependable, experienced Box Truck Owner-Operators to support our Walmart last-mile delivery operation in Newark, New Jersey. Drivers will pick up packages at the designated Walmart location, load and secure their cargo, follow assigned delivery routes, and deliver orders to residential and business customers throughout the service area. This opportunity is designed for experienced delivery professionals who can work independently, manage their routes efficiently, and provide reliable customer service. Responsibilities Pick up, load, transport, and unload deliveries using a 16–22 ft box truck. Follow assigned routes, use mobile devices for navigation and delivery updates, and communicate professionally with customers when necessary. Apply safe lifting practices when moving packages and handling workplace loads. Secure cargo properly and use material-handling equipment, such as a pallet jack, when needed. Work independently while maintaining safe and timely delivery practices. Contact dispatch when delivery issues, delays, or unexpected circumstances arise. Your Impact: Careful handling and dependable delivery help customers receive their goods safely and on time. Mandatory Requirements Minimum of 1 year of professional delivery driving experience . Must reside in Newark or the surrounding New Jersey area. Must own or have reliable access to a qualifying 16–22 ft box truck. Valid driver's license. Must pass a background check. Must have a clean driving record. Must maintain appropriate vehicle insurance. Must be physically capable of loading and unloading 30–50 boxes. Must have a smartphone and reliable cellular service. Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and capable of completing full delivery routes. Who We Are Looking For We want serious owner-operators who are committed to consistent work.
