Bilingual Logistics Manager (Chinese/English)

We are seeking an experienced Bilingual Logistics Manager (Chinese/English) to support and manage our growing U.S. logistics operations. This position will oversee international freight forwarding activities, coordinate with customers, ocean carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, warehouses, and overseas offices, and help ensure efficient and compliant shipment execution. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in international ocean freight forwarding, a solid understanding of U.S.–China import/export and customs requirements, and the ability to proactively develop practical, end-to-end logistics solutions for customers. Experience working for an NVOCC or Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities · Manage import and export shipments from booking through final delivery, including shipment coordination, documentation, customs clearance follow-up, trucking, and warehouse coordination. · Handle day-to-day shipment issues directly, track milestones, and communicate timely updates to customers and service providers. · Coordinate directly with ocean carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, warehouses, terminals, and overseas partners. · Analyze customer shipping requirements and proactively develop end-to-end logistics solutions, including routing, transportation mode, customs clearance coordination, domestic transportation, and warehousing. · Provide consultative logistics recommendations to customers based on cost, transit time, compliance requirements, cargo characteristics, and operational feasibility. · Support customers and internal teams in identifying and resolving customs clearance, documentation, routing, and other cross-border logistics issues. · Monitor shipment status, identify potential delays or operational issues, and proactively develop solutions. · Ensure operational processes comply with applicable U.S. transportation, ocean freight, and import/export requirements. · Develop and improve internal SOPs and operational processes as the U.S. business continues to grow. · Support customer service and assist with resolving shipment exceptions, claims, documentation issues, and other operational matters. · Provide guidance and support to operations staff and assist with team development as the organization grows. Qualifications · Bilingual in Chinese and English (required). · Minimum 3 years of relevant U.S.-based ocean freight forwarding or Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) experience strongly preferred; NVOCC experience strongly preferred. · Hands-on experience managing ocean import and export shipments, carrier bookings, Bills of Lading, documentation, and exceptions; willing to personally manage operational details. · Working knowledge of U.S.–China import/export requirements, especially U.S. customs procedures, import documentation, clearance coordination, and basic HS classification and tariff concepts. · Ability to assess customer needs and recommend workable end-to-end logistics solutions based on cost, transit time, compliance, and execution. · Familiarity with FMC-regulated ocean transportation, port and terminal operations, domestic trucking, and warehousing preferred. · Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems. · Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively. · Attention to details.
