ConfidentialBILIUNGUAL SAFETY SPECIALIST – OILFIELD FLATBED TRUCKING Location: Houston, Texas Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Oilfield Transportation / Flatbed Trucking Languages Required: English and Spanish Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Safety Specialist to support the safety and compliance operations of a fast-paced oilfield flatbed trucking company. This position will work directly with drivers, dispatchers, operations management, customers, and field personnel to promote safe operations and maintain compliance with company policies, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and customer-specific safety requirements. The ideal candidate understands that oilfield trucking presents challenges beyond normal highway transportation. Our trucks routinely operate on lease roads, drilling locations, pipeline right-of-ways (ROW), pipe yards, and other industrial locations. Key Responsibilities Monitor compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations and company safety policies. Review driver qualification files and assist with maintaining required safety documentation. Monitor Hours of Service (HOS), ELD compliance, roadside inspections, citations, and driver violations . Assist with accident prevention and corrective-action programs. Conduct driver coaching following incidents, violations, unsafe behavior, or policy violations. Ensure drivers understand proper procedures for entering and operating on customer property. Monitor compliance with PPE, seatbelt, speed, parking, and site-specific safety requirements. Train and coach drivers on flatbed load securement , including pipe, casing, tubing, and other oilfield materials. Identify unsafe loads, shifted loads, damaged securement equipment, and other transportation hazards. Assist with DOT audits, customer safety audits, and internal safety reviews. Track safety trends and identify drivers requiring additional coaching or training. Work closely with dispatch and operations to address safety concerns before trucks are dispatched. Maintain accurate records of accidents, incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions. Participate in safety meetings and communicate safety expectations throughout the company. Qualifications Previous experience in commercial trucking safety, DOT compliance, transportation operations, or oilfield transportation strongly preferred. Knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements . Experience with flatbed transportation and cargo securement preferred. Oilfield experience involving drilling rigs, lease roads, pipeline ROWs, or pipe transportation is highly desirable. Strong communication and driver-coaching skills. Ability to investigate incidents objectively and document findings clearly. Comfortable addressing unsafe behavior and enforcing company policies. Strong computer, documentation, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with management and operations.
