Bar Manager

Job Description Carlyle is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Bar Manager to oversee daily bar operations and deliver an excellent guest experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a good understanding of beverage service, and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Bar Manager will be responsible for supervising bar staff, maintaining beverage quality, managing inventory, monitoring costs, and ensuring compliance with applicable alcohol service, food safety, and workplace regulations. This role requires a hands-on leader who can maintain high service standards, create a welcoming atmosphere, and help the business achieve its operational goals. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily bar operations and ensure efficient service. Lead, supervise, and motivate bartenders, servers, and bar support staff. Coordinate staff schedules, shift assignments, and daily responsibilities. Maintain consistent standards for beverage preparation, presentation, and service. Ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and attentive service. Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints professionally. Monitor beverage inventory and coordinate stock ordering and replenishment. Track product usage, reduce waste, and help control operating costs. Ensure proper cash handling, payment processing, and end-of-shift reporting. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the bar area. Ensure compliance with applicable alcohol licensing and responsible service requirements. Train employees on beverage knowledge, service procedures, and customer care. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and evaluating bar team members. Develop and maintain beverage menus, promotions, and service standards as appropriate. Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue. Coordinate with kitchen and restaurant teams to support smooth overall operations. Ensure equipment is used correctly and maintenance issues are reported promptly. Foster a respectful, collaborative, and professional working environment. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience in bar management, bartending, or hospitality supervision. Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills. Knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and standard preparation methods. Understanding of inventory control, stock rotation, and cost management. Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic sales reporting. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and applicable local regulations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy service periods. Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach to work. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Relevant responsible beverage service certification where required by law.
