About the Role: The Bar & Events Lead is responsible for overseeing the seamless operation of bar services and event execution within the venue, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role involves managing a dynamic team, coordinating event logistics, and maintaining high standards of service quality and compliance with health and safety regulations. The Bar & Events Lead will collaborate closely with management and vendors to plan and execute a variety of events, from private parties to large-scale functions, while optimizing operational efficiency and profitability. A key outcome of this position is to foster a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere that enhances customer satisfaction and drives repeat business. Ultimately, the Bar & Events Lead plays a pivotal role in elevating the venue’s reputation through meticulous attention to detail, leadership, and proactive problem-solving. This role is based out of our Downtown Detroit Location. Typical work week is 3 days at our Downtown Location and 2 day at other high volume locations focusing on training and execution of the location's bar business. Minimum Qualifications: Able and willing to work peak bar business hours. Minimum of 3 years of experience in bar management or event coordination within a hospitality environment. Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced service setting. Strong knowledge of beverage service, event planning, and health and safety regulations. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in bartending, mixology, or event management. Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software. First Aid and Alcohol Server Certification (e.g., TIPS or equivalent). Experience working in upscale or high-volume venues. Strong network within the local hospitality and events industry. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise bar staff and event teams to deliver outstanding service during all shifts and events. Drive In-store Event Planning Plan, coordinate, and execute events, including setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring all client requirements are met. Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to maintain adequate supplies and minimize waste. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations related to bar operations and events. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote events and special offers effectively. Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to enhance team performance and service standards. Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting to senior management. Skills: The Bar & Events Lead utilizes strong organizational and multitasking skills daily to coordinate multiple events and bar operations simultaneously, ensuring smooth execution and guest satisfaction. Leadership and communication skills are essential for managing and motivating a diverse team, providing clear instructions, and resolving conflicts effectively.
