Bakery Production Coordinator

Job Summary Martha's Country Bakery is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Bakery Production Coordinator to support and coordinate daily bakery production activities. This position focuses on production scheduling, ingredient preparation, inventory coordination, workflow organization, and communication between bakers, kitchen staff, and management. The ideal candidate has experience in bakery or food service operations, strong administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to help maintain efficient production schedules while ensuring consistent product quality. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily bakery production schedules and preparation activities. Communicate production requirements to bakers and bakery assistants. Organize work assignments based on production priorities and customer demand. Monitor the preparation and production of cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, and other bakery products. Track production quantities and report completed items to management. Coordinate ingredient preparation and ensure supplies are available for scheduled production. Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment requirements. Assist with purchasing coordination and supplier communications. Maintain production records, preparation schedules, and inventory documentation. Monitor product freshness, storage, labeling, and rotation procedures. Coordinate packaging and product transfers to retail display areas. Identify production delays and communicate issues to the appropriate team members. Support quality checks to ensure products meet bakery standards. Help maintain cleanliness and organization in production and storage areas. Coordinate equipment maintenance requests when necessary. Assist management with improving production efficiency and reducing food waste. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in bakery operations, food service, or production coordination preferred. Understanding of basic baking and food preparation procedures. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to maintain accurate production and inventory records. Familiarity with ingredient storage and food safety procedures. Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and scheduling tools. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet production deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends when required. Preferred Skills Experience coordinating bakery, pastry, or commercial kitchen production. Familiarity with breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and specialty desserts. Knowledge of production planning and inventory management. Ability to communicate effectively with bakers, suppliers, and supervisors. Understanding of food-cost control and waste reduction. Experience using inventory tracking or production management software. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment. Work Environment Commercial bakery and food production environment. Regular coordination with bakers, pastry staff, inventory employees, and management. Frequent movement between production, storage, packaging, and display areas. May require standing for extended periods and handling bakery supplies. Exposure to ovens, mixers, refrigeration equipment, and other commercial bakery tools. Scheduling may include early morning shifts, weekends, and busy holiday periods.
