We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bakery Operations Manager to lead and elevate our bakery operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing production, team performance, product quality, and overall business operations.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong hands-on bakery expertise, capable of driving growth, improving efficiencies, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer experience.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all daily bakery operations, including production, staffing, inventory, and sales performance

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, consistency, and profitability

  • Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen, front-of-house, and management teams

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, train, and mentor bakery staff, including supervisors and senior bakers

  • Create staff schedules, manage performance, and foster a high-performance culture

  • Drive accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all levels

Product Quality & Innovation

  • Maintain and elevate product quality, presentation, and consistency

  • Collaborate on menu development, seasonal offerings, and new product launches

  • Ensure recipes, production processes, and standards are strictly followed

Financial & Inventory Control

  • Manage food costs, labour costs, and overall operational budgets

  • Monitor inventory levels, reduce waste, and optimize purchasing processes

  • Analyze sales and production data to improve margins and efficiency

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Client & Customer Experience

  • Uphold a high standard of customer satisfaction and brand reputation

  • Handle escalated customer concerns professionally

  • Support business growth through strong operational execution



Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in bakery or food production operations

  • 2–3+ years in a leadership or management role

  • Strong knowledge of artisan and/or commercial baking processes

  • Proven experience managing teams in a high-volume environment

  • Solid understanding of cost control, inventory management, and operations

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience scaling bakery or café operations

  • Background in menu development and product innovation

  • Familiarity with POS systems and operational reporting

  • Food safety certification
