ole, your primary mission is to ensure no truck returns to our West Deptford hub empty. Your daily responsibilities will include:
• Backhaul Coordination: Proactively source, negotiate, and book profitable return loads for regional and national drivers.
• Freight Matching: Utilize digital load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) and broker networks to match available fleet capacity with high-yield inbound freight.
• Driver Dispatching: Communicate return load details, routing instructions, and pickup schedules clearly to drivers.
• Revenue Optimization: Analyze lane rates to negotiate the best possible spot-market pricing for backhauls.
• Track & Trace: Monitor return shipments to ensure drivers hit appointment windows and minimize detention times.
Experience
• Industry Experience: Proven experience with Truckload (TL) or Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight networks.
• Sourcing & Negotiation: Strong background in booking freight, working with brokers, and navigating load boards to secure return lanes.
• Driver Management: Experience communicating effectively with commercial drivers and managing their hours/schedules for return trips.
• Geographic Familiarity: Good understanding of freight lanes originating out of common delivery regions back into the Northeast/NJ area.
• Location: Reliable commuting distance to our facility in West Deptford, NJ.
