is seeking reliable and safety-conscious Ready-Mix Concrete Truck Drivers holding a valid AZ or DZ licence with an Air Brake (Z) endorsement to work in the National Capital Region.
The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating ready-mix concrete trucks, completing deliveries to construction sites, conducting vehicle inspections, and following all applicable safety procedures.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced commercial drivers looking for consistent work, competitive hourly pay, and the opportunity to develop their skills in the construction industry.
Drivers will work locally throughout the National Capital Region and return home daily.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate a ready-mix concrete truck and deliver concrete to designated construction sites.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
• Load, transport, and discharge concrete in accordance with established procedures.
• Operate manual-transmission vehicles safely and confidently.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, inspection reports, and other required paperwork.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and site personnel regarding deliveries and scheduling.
• Follow all workplace health and safety policies, traffic laws, and site-specific requirements.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean vehicle cab and assist with routine vehicle upkeep.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely navigate active construction sites.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Valid Class AZ or DZ driver's licence.
• Valid Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Experience operating manual-transmission commercial vehicles.
• Previous experience operating heavy trucks, delivering construction materials, or working in the construction industry is an asset.
• Strong commitment to safe driving practices and workplace safety.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physically capable of climbing truck access steps and handling equipment, including concrete chutes, as required.
• Willingness to wear all required PPE and comply with site safety requirements.
Additional Requirements
• A satisfactory driver's abstract and Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) record may be required.
• A criminal record check may be requested.
• Fitness testing may be required.
• Candidates must comply with applicable workplace safety requirements, including respirator fit-testing and facial-hair requirements where a tight-fitting respirator is necessary.
Compensation and Schedule
• Hourly Wage: $29.00–$31.48, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work, evening shifts, and overtime as required.
• Work Location: Ottawa and the surrounding National Capital Region.
• Home Daily: Yes.
