AZ Long Haul Driver – Mississauga to Newfoundland (Dedicated Route)

Pay: CA$80,000.00–CA$135,000.00 per year Job description: Job Overview Galaxy Freightline is seeking professional and experienced AZ Long Haul Drivers to operate dedicated routes originating out of our Mississauga, ON terminal. This role covers long-haul runs connecting Ontario to Newfoundland, passing through Quebec and the Maritimes. Candidates must be comfortable with long-distance highway driving, ferry crossings (Marine Atlantic), toll bridges, and hauling dry van or reefer freight while maintaining high safety and service standards. Key Responsibilities Transport freight safely and efficiently on long-haul cross-provincial routes connecting Mississauga, ON directly to destinations across Newfoundland (and intermediate points throughout Eastern Canada). Manage trip logistics, including Marine Atlantic ferry crossings (North Sydney, NS to Port aux Basques / Argentia, NL) and winter route planning. Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) logs in full compliance with Canadian Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Safely operate commercial vehicles across varied terrain and harsh eastern Canadian winter weather conditions year-round. Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, maintenance personnel, and customers. Requirements & Qualifications License: Valid Commercial Class AZ Driver’s License. Experience: Minimum 2 years of verifiable cross-provincial long-haul tractor-trailer driving experience (experience with Eastern Canada routes and ferry boarding is a strong asset). Driver Abstract: Clean commercial driver’s abstract with 0 demerit points and a clean CVOR record. Skills: Proficient in operating ELDs, completing pre-trip/post-trip inspection reports, and securing reefer/dry van loads properly. Professionalism: Strong work ethic, reliable, with a commitment to road safety and clear communication.
