AZ Highway Driver

Qualifications: Minimum two (2) years of verifiable A-Z driving experience Flatbed experience preferred but not mandatory — training can be provided Valid Air Brake (Z) endorsement Must be physically capable of lifting and handling up to 50 lbs Familiarity with electronic logbooks and other onboard equipment (e.g., GPS, AVL units, CB radios ) Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations Reliable, flexible, organized , and able to work both independently and as part of a team Job Responsibilities: Operate Commercial Vehicles Safely: Drive A-Z commercial vehicles locally and over long distances, adhering to all federal and provincial transportation regulations. Flatbed Load Handling: Safely secure and transport loads using tarps, chains, straps, and other securement tools, ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards. Logbook & Compliance Management: Accurately maintain electronic logbooks and utilize onboard communication and navigation tools in accordance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Vehicle Inspections: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance concerns. Load and Unload Freight: Assist with manual loading/unloading when necessary, handling freight of up to 50 lbs. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of and follow all road, transport, and workplace safety rules, including cross-border regulations if applicable. Communication & Reporting: Maintain regular communication with dispatch to provide updates on deliveries, delays, and any incidents or mechanical issues. Equipment Maintenance: Keep trucks clean and well-maintained, promptly reporting issues for repair. Customer Service: Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions and uphold a high standard of conduct at customer sites. Team Coordination: Work closely with dispatch, operations, and safety teams to meet delivery timelines and respond to scheduling changes.
