We are looking to welcome an experienced and professional AZ/Roll-Off Driver to our team to execute essential day-to-day transportation and operational duties. Key Responsibilities & Duties Safe Transportation: Operate an AZ-class roll-off truck (and potentially a truck/trailer combination) to safely transport various metal materials and recycling containers to and from customer sites, the yard, and/or one of other yards. Roll-Off Operation: Proficiently and safely operate the hydraulic hook-lift/roll-off system to load, unload, and accurately position containers at commercial, industrial, and residential sites, often navigating tight spaces. Load Securement & Weight: Ensure all loads are secured properly (e.g., tarping) and comply with all weight, dimension, and traffic regulations (Highway Traffic Act, CVOR) before transit. Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections (including air brake checks), promptly report any mechanical issues, and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior. Route & Dispatch: Follow daily routes and schedules efficiently, effectively communicating with the Dispatch team regarding delays, changes, or service issues. Customer Service: Act as the professional face of Glenview Iron & Metal, providing courteous and timely service while interacting with customers and site staff during pickups and drop-offs. Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including logbooks (e.g., ELD) Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Glenview Iron & Metal’s safety policies and provincial safety regulations (e.g., OHSA) Required Qualifications & Experience · AZ License: Valid and unrestricted Class AZ/DZ Driver's Licence with the mandatory Z (Air Brake) Endorsement . · Experience: A minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience, with specific experience operating Roll-Off or Hook-Lift trucks preferred. · Driving Record: A clean and verifiable Driver's Abstract (CVOR) demonstrating a commitment to safety. · Physical Ability: Must be physically capable of performing the demands of the job, including frequent climbing in and out of the truck, securing loads, and occasional heavy lifting (up to 50lbs). · Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine maintenance checks and identify potential vehicle issues. · Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and possesses the initiative to work independently while upholding a strong work ethic.
