Responsibilities
• Safely operate commercial trucks equipped for cross-border freight transportation, ensuring compliance with all transportation laws and regulations.
• Load, secure, and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed, maintaining safety protocols at all times.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, identifying maintenance needs or repairs to prevent delays.
• Navigate international routes efficiently, managing documentation such as customs paperwork, bills of lading, and delivery manifests.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and border authorities to coordinate pickups and deliveries seamlessly.
• Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when minor issues arise during transit to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of freight movements, vehicle inspections, and operational logs for compliance purposes.
Requirements
• Valid AZ commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record and proven experience in cross-border trucking.
• Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely in a warehouse or yard setting.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and securement techniques to prevent damage during transit.
• Experience with automotive repair or troubleshooting minor vehicle issues is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of border crossing procedures, customs documentation, and international transportation regulations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy freight, standing for extended periods, and operating heavy machinery.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members, clients, and border officials.
