Automotive Parts Supervisor

Position Overview Are you an experienced automotive parts professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads with a sense of urgency? Indy Auto Man is seeking a motivated, organized, and results-driven Parts Supervisor to oversee daily parts operations at our Westfield, Indiana location. This hands-on role is responsible for accurate parts ordering, receiving, inventory management, efficient parts flow, and supervising a Parts Specialist. The ideal candidate takes ownership, communicates proactively, follows through on commitments, and develops a team that can operate efficiently and independently. Key Responsibilities: Parts Ordering & Purchasing Ensure the correct parts are ordered quickly, accurately, and at competitive prices. Verify part accuracy, pricing, and availability to prevent errors and delays. Receiving, Shipping & Returns Oversee accurate receiving, shipping, logging, and tracking of all parts. Manage returns and core exchanges, ensuring credits are received within 14 days. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records, costs, and documentation while ensuring stock and shop supplies remain available. Monitor inventory to ensure parts associated with repair orders do not remain on shelves longer than 14 days. Parts Department Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and properly labeled parts department where everything has a designated place. Parts Flow & Service Coordination Ensure parts move quickly and accurately, prioritizing older vehicles and minimizing time to line. Maintain current ETAs for all vehicles waiting on parts and proactively communicate updates or delays. Team Leadership & Development Lead and support the Parts Specialist while establishing clear expectations and accountability. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback while remaining open to feedback and development. Build an independent, capable team that can operate efficiently without constant supervision. Qualifications: Knowledge of automotive parts, ordering, inventory management, and returns. Experience with automotive repair orders, parts tracking, and core processing. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Proficiency with inventory management systems and standard computer applications.
