Automotive Parts Route Driver (Non-CDL)
ConfidentialA day in the life Start your morning at 5:00 a.m., check your route, and perform thorough pre-trip inspections. You’ll roll out in a box truck under 26,001 pounds to complete 10–20 stops, bringing tires, undercar parts, and lubricants to independent retailers, repair shops, and dealerships. With a company-provided handheld, you’ll confirm each delivery, collect payments when required, and keep accurate logs for fuel and driving activity. You’ll drive in all weather, communicate with customers and dispatch, and wrap up with a post-trip inspection—typically between 4:00 p.m. and day’s end when the last delivery is complete. Schedules may change with business needs and can include overtime; plan on 8–12 hours per day. What you’ll do Operate a non-CDL box truck (under 26,001 lbs) safely and punctually on assigned routes Complete and maintain delivery documentation, driver’s logs, and fuel purchase records per company policy and law Deliver on time in varied weather conditions while providing excellent customer service Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections daily Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs on occasion; use team lifts or mechanical aids for commercial tires Exert up to 40 lbs of pushing force when working with barrels or industrial/agricultural tires Assist with loading/unloading and, as needed, operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers (training provided) Use a handheld device to confirm deliveries and route completion Collect payments at delivery when required Schedule Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (or until all deliveries are completed). Schedules may change based on business needs and can require overtime.
