About the Position iDrive Auto Parts is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Automotive Parts Quality Control & Shipping Specialist to inspect recycled OEM auto parts and support receiving, shipping, and customer pickups. You will serve as a final checkpoint before parts leave our facility—catching damage, verifying order accuracy, and ensuring parts are properly prepared and staged. This position combines automotive knowledge, computer work, customer service, and physical parts handling. Auto body or collision repair shop experience is strongly preferred, especially experience in a shop that handles insurance repairs. The ideal candidate understands body panels, recognizes damage others might overlook, and can work independently while keeping orders moving accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Inspect automotive parts: Check doors, hoods, fenders, tailgates, bumpers, lights, and other components for damage, defects, missing components, and condition concerns. Verify order accuracy: Confirm the correct part, side, condition, and included components match the order and its description before release. Resolve quality concerns: Document damage or discrepancies, communicate with the appropriate team members, and hold questionable parts until concerns are resolved. Receive vendor orders: Receive and process vendor purchase orders, verifying incoming parts for accuracy and condition. Process returns: Handle returns and maintain accurate records in our system. Manage orders in the computer system: Update order statuses, document inspections, and record part locations and movements. Organize and stage parts: Label and place parts in designated areas for customer pickup, local delivery, or freight shipment. Prepare shipments: Package and protect parts, measure and weigh freight, and ensure shipments are properly secured. Load and unload: Assist with freight trucks and customer vehicles using safe handling practices and appropriate equipment. Assist customers: Show customers their parts, answer condition-related questions, and provide professional service during pickups. Maintain supplies and work areas: Monitor and order shipping supplies and keep inspection, staging, and shipping areas clean and organized. Support improvements: Identify recurring quality issues and suggest practical ways to reduce damage, mistakes, and delays. Work closely with sales, warehouse, delivery, and production teams to keep daily operations running smoothly. Qualifications Previous automotive industry experience is required. Auto body, collision repair, automotive parts inspection, or parts department experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with insurance-related collision repairs and body-panel condition standards is a strong plus. Ability to recognize dents, scratches, cracks, broken mounting points, and other damage or missing components. Comfortable using computers and learning inventory and order-processing software. Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. Able to prioritize tasks, make sound routine decisions, and recognize when an issue needs a manager’s attention. A self-starter who takes ownership of work and stays productive without constant supervision. Professional communication, customer service, and teamwork skills. Consistent attendance and punctuality. This position supports daily shipping, receiving, and customer pickups, so being ready to work at 7:00 a.m. and maintaining dependable attendance are essential. Physical Requirements Frequently lift, carry, and position automotive parts weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the day. Handle bulky parts such as doors, hoods, and tailgates, using assistance or equipment when needed. Stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, and move parts. Perform the essential duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. Pay and Schedule $23–$27 per hour , based on relevant experience and qualifications. Time-and-a-half f…
