Automotive Parts Manager
Holz MotorsHolz Motors | Hales Corners, WI Full-Time | Automotive Parts Leadership Holz Motors is looking for an experienced Parts Director to lead our Retail Parts Department, oversee our Wholesale Parts operation, and take ownership of our overall parts inventory. This is a key leadership position for someone who understands that a successful parts department is built on strong inventory control, profitable sales, excellent customer service, and an accountable team. The Parts Director will be responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the Parts Department, including Retail, Wholesale, purchasing, and inventory management . We are specifically looking for someone with proven automotive parts inventory experience who understands inventory turns, stocking levels, obsolescence, purchasing, returns, and maintaining the right parts at the right levels. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Retail Parts Department . Oversee and grow the Wholesale Parts Department . Manage and control overall parts inventory. Develop and maintain appropriate stocking levels. Monitor inventory turns, aging, obsolescence, and excess inventory. Manage parts purchasing and vendor relationships. Review and control daily, weekly, and monthly inventory activity. Identify opportunities to improve inventory profitability and reduce unnecessary inventory. Monitor parts sales, gross profit, expenses, and department profitability. Lead, train, and hold parts employees accountable for performance. Work closely with Service, Sales, and dealership management. Develop efficient processes for ordering, receiving, stocking, returns, and special orders. Ensure accurate pricing and proper inventory controls. Build relationships with wholesale customers and help develop new business. Monitor customer service and ensure retail and wholesale customers receive exceptional support. Establish department goals and track performance against those goals. Provide regular reporting and recommendations to dealership management. Required Experience Proven automotive parts inventory management experience is required. The ideal candidate will have: Several years of automotive parts experience. Previous Parts Manager, Parts Director, or senior parts leadership experience. Strong understanding of automotive parts inventory management. Demonstrated experience controlling inventory levels and reducing obsolete/excess inventory. Knowledge of inventory turns, purchasing, stocking levels, and returns. Experience managing both retail and/or wholesale parts operations. Strong leadership and team-management skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong computer and inventory management system experience. A track record of improving department performance and profitability.
