Automotive Parts Inventory & Quality Control Specialist
Glen's Auto PartsTaylor, Michigan Full-Time On-Site Immediate Opening Know Cars? Have an Eye for Detail? Let’s Put Those Skills to Work! Can you identify common automotive parts? Recognize a broken mounting tab, damaged connector, or part that just doesn’t look right? Comfortable using your phone, following directions, and staying busy? If so, we want to meet you. Glen’s Auto Parts is a family-owned automotive recycling and parts business in Taylor, Michigan. We help repair shops, collision centers, mechanics, and everyday drivers get the parts they need. We’re hiring a dependable new member of our Inventory & Quality Control Team, with hands-on training alongside experienced employees. You bring the automotive knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. We’ll teach you our process. Your Three Most Important Responsibilities 1. Take Great Pictures of Automotive Parts Photograph engines, transmissions, body panels, and other components clearly and accurately. Capture multiple angles, mounting points, connectors, ID numbers, and visible imperfections. Follow our photography and quality standards. No professional photography experience needed—just a good eye for detail. 2. Put Parts Away Correctly Scan and identify parts, verify inventory tags, move parts safely to assigned locations, organize racks and shelves, and help retrieve inventory for customer orders. The right part. The right location. Every time. 3. Read Your Phone. Follow the Task. Get It Done. We use EZ inventory software to direct daily work. Read the assignment on a compatible personal smartphone, scan the part, and follow the instructions. A part may need picking, inspection, photography, eBay boxing, PRP packaging, pallet preparation, or staging for pickup or delivery. Update locations and complete tasks accurately. No previous EZ experience required—we’ll train you. Quality Control — Be the Person Who Catches the Problem Before a part reaches a customer, we need to know it’s the correct item and meets the customer’s expectations. Look for cracks, broken tabs, missing brackets, damaged connectors, dents, scratches, and other visible issues. Review customer-specific requirements, document concerns, and alert the team before a questionable part moves forward. We’d rather catch a problem here than have a customer discover it after delivery. Your judgment can prevent returns, delays, and disappointed customers. Shipping, Packaging & Getting Orders Ready Box automotive parts for eBay orders and prepare PRP network shipments. Protect parts with appropriate packaging and secure larger components on pallets. Physical Requirements & Equipment Operation Ability to lift, carry, and move automotive parts weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing active warehouse and yard tasks throughout the workday. Use appropriate lifting equipment or team assistance for larger or heavier components. Ability and willingness to safely operate a forklift and skid steer. Previous experience is helpful; training will be provided. Forklift operation requires completion of employer-provided training and evaluation before independent operation. Follow all equipment and material-handling safety procedures. Safety comes first. We expect everyone to use the proper equipment, follow training, and speak up about unsafe conditions. Why This Job Matters Every part you photograph, inspect, store, or package is connected to a customer waiting for it. Accurate pictures build confidence. Correct inventory locations save time. Careful QC prevents avoidable problems. You’re not just moving parts—you’re helping deliver on our promises. Who We’re Looking For You can identify common automot…
