Automotive Fleet & Shop Mechanic Location: Memphis, TN / Millington, TN Company: White Glove Towing Service / Fleet Maintenance Division Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Automotive Fleet & Shop Mechanic to join our growing team. Our shop services a large portion of the United States Government vehicle fleet, along with commercial fleet vehicles, light-duty trucks, vans, and passenger vehicles. This is not an oil-change position. We are looking for a skilled technician capable of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of automotive systems while working in a fast-paced fleet environment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled fleet service Service brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and driveline components Perform engine diagnostics and repair Troubleshoot electrical systems using modern diagnostic equipment Conduct vehicle inspections and identify safety concerns Complete repair orders and maintenance records accurately Maintain a clean and organized work area Work efficiently to minimize fleet downtime Qualifications 3+ years of automotive repair experience preferred Experience with OBD-1 and OBD-2 preferred Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with fleet vehicles, delivery vans, or commercial vehicles is a plus Ability to perform repairs independently with limited supervision Familiarity with scan tools and modern diagnostic equipment Valid driver's license required ASE certifications are a plus but not required Tow Truck experience and F endorsement is a plus but not required What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Consistent year-round work Stable fleet contracts Modern equipment and tools Career advancement opportunities Supportive team environment Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a well-rounded technician who can confidently diagnose problems, turn wrenches, and take pride in quality work.
