Auto Inventory Manager
FastTurnPosition Overview Fast Turn is seeking an experienced and highly organized Auto Inventory Manager to oversee the complete vehicle inventory process, from sourcing and purchasing vehicles through inspection, reconditioning, pricing, retail preparation, and wholesale disposition. The Auto Inventory Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, controlling vehicle costs, coordinating vehicles between auctions, inspection facilities, and our shop, and ensuring every vehicle is properly prepared and ready for sale. The ideal candidate should have strong automotive knowledge, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience working with dealership inventory and auction platforms. Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Sourcing & Purchasing Source vehicles through wholesale auto auctions and other auction platforms. Identify and evaluate potential vehicle purchases based on market value, condition, mileage, history, and expected profitability. Source vehicles through street purchases , trade opportunities, and other acquisition channels. Review auction announcements, condition reports, photographs, and vehicle history. Coordinate vehicle purchases and transportation. Track purchased vehicles from acquisition through final sale. Auction & Wholesale Management Organize vehicles that are designated for wholesale sale. Prepare vehicles for auction and ensure they are properly represented. Coordinate transportation of wholesale vehicles to auctions. Monitor auction results and sale status. Handle auction arbitration , including identifying condition discrepancies and submitting or managing arbitration claims when appropriate. Communicate with auction representatives regarding vehicle condition, disclosures, and arbitration issues. Vehicle Inspection & Reconditioning Coordinate vehicle inspections after purchase. Take vehicles to appropriate inspection facilities and/or Fast Turn's shop. Review inspection results and determine necessary repairs and reconditioning. Coordinate with technicians and shop personnel regarding required repairs. Track vehicles through the reconditioning process. Follow up to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner. Verify that vehicles meet Fast Turn's standards before being placed into retail inventory. Inventory Management Stock vehicles into dealership inventory promptly after acquisition. Maintain accurate vehicle information, including VIN, mileage, acquisition cost, fees, repairs, and other expenses. Maintain and organize vehicle keys. Ensure keys are properly labeled, stored, and accounted for. Monitor the physical location and status of every vehicle. Maintain accurate inventory records and prevent discrepancies. Vehicle Pricing Research current market pricing and comparable vehicles. Price vehicles appropriately based on market conditions, vehicle condition, mileage, equipment, acquisition cost, and expected profit. Monitor vehicle pricing and recommend price adjustments when necessary. Work with management to maximize inventory turnover while maintaining appropriate margins. Retail-Ready Preparation Ensure every retail vehicle is retail ready before being advertised and sold. Confirm vehicles have completed required inspections and reconditioning. Verify vehicles are cleaned, detailed, and presentable. Confirm required repairs have been completed. Check that warning lights, equipment, accessories, and required documentation are addressed. Coordinate final quality-control checks before vehicles are displayed for sale. Software & Data Management Use vAuto to manage vehicle inventory, pricing, market information, and related inventory functions. Use Frazier to enter and track invoices, repair costs, parts, labor, and other vehicle expenses. Maintain accurate Excel spreadsheets for inventory tracking, vehicle costs, repairs, wholesale activity, and other dealership information.
