Associate Sourcing Specialist, Diagnostic Imaging Equipment The Associate Sourcing Specialist supports the acquisition of diagnostic imaging equipment, systems, subassemblies, and parts at the best overall value to the business. This is a technical, analytical role - not an administrative purchasing position - that, under the guidance of senior sourcing staff, helps evaluate equipment at both the system and component level to identify the most economical way to meet demand. Central to the role is learning to look beyond the immediate purchase request: understanding what the company already owns, forecasting what it will need, and finding the lowest-total-cost way to fulfill that need. This includes recognizing when buying a complete system - for its usable parts and residual value - is more economical than sourcing an individual component. The ideal candidate has a working foundation in diagnostic imaging equipment but may have no prior purchasing experience. Tri-Imaging provides hands-on training and mentoring in our sourcing processes, commercial approach, and decision-making methods, so a technically capable employee can grow into a sourcing professional. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring diagnostic imaging equipment, subassemblies, and parts, assessing configuration, condition, compatibility, component value, and total acquisition cost. Negotiate routine purchases within established guidelines and support senior staff on pricing, terms, logistics, and equipment configurations with suppliers and industry contacts. Help evaluate when acquiring a complete system is more economical than buying individual parts, and present recommendations to senior sourcing staff for approval. Assist with forecasting equipment and component needs using historical demand, inventory levels, contractual commitments, and expected business activity. Help identify future requirements driven by equipment under contract and evolving customer demand. Assist in reviewing inventory positions to identify shortages, excess stock, slow-moving items, and supply risk. Monitor inventory turns and flag items for purchasing, redeployment, harvesting, transfer, or disposition review to help keep turns within target. Review third-party parts requests to confirm whether needs can be met from existing inventory or a lower-cost alternative before buying externally. Track and report sourcing results and support improvements in availability, cost, forecast accuracy, and inventory performance. Work with Sales, Service, Operations, Inventory, Technical, and Finance to gather requirements and support sourcing decisions that meet business need. Key performance indicators for this role include: timely and accurate support of equipment and critical-parts availability; savings achieved on assigned purchases; accuracy of inventory and forecast data provided to the team; and steady growth in sourcing knowledge and independence. Job Requirements: Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and industry experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 2+ years of industry experience with diagnostic imaging equipment, systems, subassemblies, or parts required. Relevant backgrounds may include diagnostic imaging field service, refurbishment, technical support, equipment sales, parts operations, asset management, depot repair, or service operations. Prior purchasing or procurement experience is helpful but not required - Tri-Imaging will train the right candidate. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Working knowledge of equipment configurations, major assemblies, component relationships, and compatibility. Ability to learn to evaluate both the technical suitability and the commercial value of equipment. Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with interest in developing negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and recognize when to esca…
