This position will be a key contributor to the development of the College of Business’ Global Supply Chain Management discipline – a new and growing program situated in one of North America’s most significant logistics hubs and supported by an advisory board of supply chain executives from a wide range of industries.

The successful candidate will bring substantial expertise in supply chain management — whether developed through professional practice, academic scholarship, or a combination of both — and will be committed to delivering an exceptional undergraduate educational experience. Appointment will be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, commensurate with the candidate’s academic credentials and experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Revising & developing Supply Chain Management-related courses to deliver specific program and course level learning outcomes

  • Teaching Supply Chain Management-related courses

  • Supporting the continued development of the College of Business’ Global Supply Chain Management academic program & student experience

This position will be expected to develop and teach industry-relevant undergraduate courses in a seated face-to-face format as well as online and hybrid (partially seated, partially online) courses.

The standard teaching load for this position is four courses per semester (24 credit hours per year). Initially, the successful candidate will develop new courses in lieu of a full teaching load. This position is not expected to produce research.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years of combined experience in Supply Chain Management through professional practice, university-level teaching, or both
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more core supply chain domains (such as procurement and sourcing, logistics and transportation, warehousing and distribution, global trade, demand planning, etc.)
  • Evidence of, or clear potential for, effective teaching at the university level

Preferred:

  • Experience in both professional and academic settings
  • Experience developing courses at the university level

The College welcomes applications from candidates whose expertise reflects a range of backgrounds — including those with primarily academic careers, those with extensive industry experience, and those whose careers span both.

For appointment at the rank of instructor, candidates must possess an MBA or a master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a closely related field. For appointments at the rank of assistant or associate professor, candidates must have a Ph.D. in one of the listed areas.
