Position Status: Temporary Full-Time, 12-month Contract

Description of the Position:
The position of Associate, Events Logistics offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the planning and execution of signature events. The position involves supporting the development of a cutting-edge volunteer program to address the growing need for volunteer resources, while ensuring that volunteers are provided with enriching opportunities to contribute to the mission of the Foundation. Reporting to the Manager, Events Logistics, the associate will support the project management of events within the portfolio, delivering compelling event experiences, and ultimately contributing to donor loyalty, stakeholder satisfaction, and revenue generation. This position presents a dynamic opportunity to be at the forefront of creating impactful and memorable event experiences which culminate in donor loyalty, stakeholder satisfaction and revenue generation.


You will:

  • Work collaboratively with the Manager, Event Logistics and assists in the design and development of event programs;
  • Support the team with various facets of the event, which may include concept development and delivery, coordination of logistical tactics, execution and post-event reconciliation;
  • Support the development and management of a leading-edge volunteer program at SickKids Foundation that addresses the growing need for volunteer resources, while ensuring that volunteers are provided with best in-class onboarding and training;
  • Oversee the Volunteer Engagement Program and lead onsite management of volunteers at various events, post-event reporting and stewardship of volunteers;
  • Provide event management, execution and logistics for current and new signature fundraising events;
  • Support the project management of various facets of the event, which may include concept development and delivery, coordination of logistical tactics, execution and post-event reconciliation;
  • Build meaningful and effective relationships with event participants, vendors, volunteers and sponsors, providing excellent customer service at all time;
  • Responsible for data analysis and report building for the distribution of key success metrics to be shared with internal and external stakeholders (Core Team, Board, Senior Management Team)Work collaboratively with various Foundation Teams to build strong relationships to ensure a successful outcome of all events;
  • Generate, compile, and analyze reports to assist in the development of growth strategies for Volunteer Engagement;
  • Work in collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and manage event budgets which includes providing budgetary recommendations and identifying cost saving opportunities;
  • Negotiate with suppliers/vendors on best possible pricing, terms and values;
  • Support events lead with onsite execution of event logistics;
  • In collaboration with the Manager Events Logistics, continue to enhance the Volunteer Engagement program to ensure we are delivering a leading-edge program;
  • Assist with the implementation of a new volunteer database tracking system.

Qualifications:
While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:

  • A Community College Diploma or University Degree with a focus in fundraising, sales, event management or other applicable disciplines;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of event management, event logistics experience and volunteer management;
  • Experience with budget management and vendor management;
  • Strong Project Management skills;
  • Experience with volunteer onboarding, volunteer trainings and on-site management of volunteers;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing and changing priorities;
  • Proactive problem solver and solution oriented;
  • Superior written and oral communication & presentation skills;
  • Display sound decision-making and judgment;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and flexibility;
  • Demonstrated strong client/customer service orientation with the ability to understand and respond to various levels of expectations from diverse stakeholders.

Total Compensation Package:
Hiring Salary Range: $70,056.00 – $82,418.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $98,902.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Associate, Events Logistics.
