In this high-impact role, you will design, engineer and optimize the distribution center sites, ensuring sites are capable of supporting demand, throughput, storage and service requirements. You will design and in conjunction with business owners execute warehouse automation initiatives and not only be the subject matter expert for distribution automation solutions with our third-party providers but also drive innovative solutions on the warehouse floor. What You Will Do Create standards for automation solutions servicing storage, throughput and layout governance. Perform facility capacity modeling and flow simulations. Design slotting, pick-path, racking, and storage solutions – in conjunction with third party warehouse operators as well as supporting insource sites. Evaluate emerging logistics technologies and automation options (AS/RS, AMRs, conveyors, goods-to-person) and assess their applicability to RTX’s operations. Develop and implement a comprehensive technology and automation plan for distribution sites. Collaborate with the RTX systems and data teams to integrate best practices into the WMS and S4 designs as part of the RTX Logistics operating system transformation. Support network design models by building DC expansion, relocation, and consolidation plans Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Operations, Real Estate, and business operations teams. Develop capital investment proposals and ROI analysis. Influence and drive change across multiple businesses, functions and geographies. Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of logistics and sourcing professionals across multiple business units. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Serve as a key liaison between logistics, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience. 10+ years of experience in warehousing planning and operation, automation selection and implementation, logistics integrator or related roles within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
