Job Duties and Responsibilities of Associate Category Manager:
• Drive cost savings through supplier engagement and performance assessment using scorecards.
• Manage supplier relationships and communicate expectations, policies, and procedures clearly.
• Serve as the main point of contact for vendor management issues across plant operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build sourcing strategies that maximize plant value.
• Leverage Power BI dashboards and Excel analytics to support data-driven decisions.
• Lead and participate in sourcing projects, including RFPs and RFx processes.
• Support internal communications related to program initiatives and changes affecting facilities.
• Assist in maintaining Category Management processes including risk mitigation and market assessments.
• Support Category Managers with various tasks and initiatives as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications and Experience of Associate Category Manager:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; procurement or sourcing experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for spreadsheet and database management.
• Experience with Power BI and business intelligence tools preferred.
• Familiarity with contract management and RFx platforms is desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Occasional travel required (3–5 domestic trips per year).
