Assistant Warehouse manager

POSITION: Assistant Warehouse Manager REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Assistant Warehouse manager assists and collaborates with the sales team, truck lines and managers. This position requires the ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and be knowledgeable and have the ability to oversee daily business tasks. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Will work closely with the manager Will help supervise, motivate and delegate tasks to employees. Will schedule inbound freight trucks to pick up products to be shipped out. Learn the UPS process for products to be shipped. Maintains quality service by following organization standards. Place orders for supplies and pallets in Uline or other vendors. Will fill in for the primary manager during the absence of the primary manager. Work with the person in kitting area for size of bags/cartons that will be used for specific items. Will be the point of contact for the sales team to ensure communication and status of orders is communicated between the sales team and shipping department. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Customer oriented. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Warehouse/material handling experience. Must have a stable work history High school degree or equivalent Reliable and dependable. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Able to compute, analyze and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and record, balance and check results for accuracy. Be able to work in a warehouse that does not have heat or air conditioning Be able to multi-task, prioritize and be detail oriented.
