Assistant Warehouse Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will support the overall management of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, seamless shipping and receiving processes, and optimal workflow. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Support the implementation of process improvement strategies utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance on safety protocols, workflow efficiency, and performance standards. Coordinate transportation management systems (TMS) for freight scheduling, dispatching, and fleet management to optimize delivery timelines. Manage inventory control processes using ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accuracy and availability of stock. Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies. Monitor budget adherence, analyze supply chain analytics, and assist with demand planning to meet operational targets. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Support logistics activities including freight forwarding (NVOCC), 3PL partnerships, and warehouse distribution operations. Lead efforts in process standardization through process improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma projects. Experience Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or Assistant Warehouse Manager within a fast-paced logistics or supply chain environment. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or similar systems, and supply chain analytics tools. Hands-on experience with transportation planning, freight management, dispatching, and fleet coordination. Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety compliance. Familiarity with inventory management techniques including inventory control, demand planning, procurement, and materials management. Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PL), NVOCC operations, and freight forwarding processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of budgeting processes related to warehousing operations along with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is preferred.
