BHA is looking for a full-time Assistant Transportation Coordinator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with ensuring proper maintenance of vehicles and coordinating with BHA's Fleet Services Team. Assists with the supervision of BHA's Transportation Team. Assists with ensuring proper staff scheduling. Assists with recruiting personnel for the department. Assists with training of department personnel. Assists with communicating pertinent information to all respective parties. Fills in coverage as both a driver and/or aide as needed. Assists with the coordination of a transportation program to meet all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Assists with coordinating a transportation program to meet all the requirements of the daily instructional programs. Assists with preparing and updating bus schedules for all public, nonpublic, private, and special education schools servicing BHA students and the students in surrounding districts in order for all students to be transported in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Assists with creating and maintaining records for preparation and submission of state and local reports. Assists with communication with BHA and the surrounding area district administration regarding transportation changes. Assists with communication with bus drivers and contractors regarding changes to the transportation system. Assists in solving problems occurring on school vehicles and acts as liaison with parents for complaints and special requests. Assists with the enforcing compliance with state laws and regulations established by the Department of Transportation. Assists with conducting and attends appropriate staff meetings. Assists with monthly billing. Performs other related duties as assigned by administration. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and clean driving record, required. Knowledge and experience of pupil transportation laws and regulations and PDE regulations and guidelines, preferred. Experience working with children/students, preferred. Ability to stand, lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, sit, lift, and reach to perform the essential responsibilities. Ability to maintain professional relationships with school officials, parents, school personnel, and students. Positively represent and promote BHA services to outside organizations. Maintain confidentiality in all matters, including the dissemination of information regarding program development, staffing, and billing. Work both independently and as a team. Communicate effectively utilizing both written and oral communications. Basic computer literacy with Microsoft/Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
