Assistant Store Manager

Duties Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory control Supervise and motivate retail staff to achieve sales goals while maintaining high standards of customer service Conduct employee orientation, training, and ongoing development to foster a knowledgeable and engaged team Oversee merchandising, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize product presentation and availability Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, returns, and refunds while ensuring accuracy in cashiering and payroll processing Implement operational policies related to safety, cleanliness, and store standards; monitor compliance with company procedures Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Assist with budgeting, sales management, and operational planning to meet or exceed store targets Lead shift management duties by coordinating staff schedules, supervising daily activities, and ensuring efficient workflow Qualifications Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with supervising experience Strong knowledge of retail math including basic math skills for cash handling, pricing, and inventory calculations Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers Demonstrated ability in negotiation, recruiting, training & development, and employee orientation Familiarity with POS systems, inventory management software, merchandising tools, and wireless sales is preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience in grocery or convenience store settings is advantageous but not required Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams, manage time efficiently, and communicate managerial expectations clearly Join us as an Assistant Store Manager where your energy fuels our success!
