Assistant Store Manager

Overview Pet Supplies Plus is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for animals and enjoy working in a dynamic retail environment focused on pet care. The Assistant Store Manager will support the store’s daily operations, ensure excellent customer service, and foster a positive shopping experience for pet owners and their beloved animals. A love for animals and a proactive attitude are essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, answering questions about pet products, and offering advice on pet care. Support inventory management, including stock replenishment, product displays, and maintaining organized shelves. Lead by example in delivering outstanding service and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere. Help train and motivate team members to achieve sales goals and uphold company standards. Ensure compliance with safety policies and store procedures to create a safe environment for staff, customers, and animals. Participate in opening and closing duties as needed, including cash handling and store cleanliness. Foster a love for animals within the team by promoting responsible pet ownership and care. Experience Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for animals is a must. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with customers and team members effectively. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Leadership qualities such as motivation, initiative, and problem-solving skills are highly valued. A genuine passion for animals and knowledge of pet care products will be considered an asset.
