Duties Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service standards. Lead, motivate, and supervise retail staff to deliver excellent service and meet sales targets through effective team management and training. Manage employee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing development to ensure a knowledgeable and engaged team. Handle recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates to build a strong retail sales team. Oversee inventory management processes such as stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory control to optimize product availability. Ensure accurate cash handling, cashiering procedures, POS (Point of Sale) system operation, and bookkeeping tasks are followed diligently. Support operational tasks including purchasing, budgeting, payroll processing, and store maintenance to ensure smooth store functioning. Maintain excellent communication with staff and management through managerial communication skills while fostering a positive team environment. Implement store policies on safety, cleanliness, and organization to uphold health standards and enhance customer satisfaction. Utilize organizational skills to manage shift schedules, monitor sales performance metrics, and execute merchandising plans effectively. Experience Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within the retail industry or grocery stores is essential. Demonstrated success in retail sales management with knowledge of retail math for pricing and sales analysis. Strong background in inventory management, stock control, merchandising, and operational management. Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and purchasing is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases. Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, employee orientation, training & development enhances your leadership potential. Familiarity with retail industry sales team management practices combined with managerial communication skills will set you apart.
