Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities Assist the store manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service. Supervise and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Lead hiring processes by conducting interviews, onboarding new employees, and supporting employee orientation initiatives. Manage scheduling, shift assignments, and payroll processing to ensure optimal staffing levels. Oversee inventory management activities such as stock replenishment, merchandising, purchasing, and stock control to maximize sales opportunities. Ensure compliance with POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling procedures, and pricing accuracy. Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills in retail math, product knowledge, and customer service excellence. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and effective communication skills. Support operational management tasks including bookkeeping, budgeting, and ensuring adherence to company policies. Collaborate with management on sales strategies for wireless sales, grocery items, or other specialty categories to boost overall store performance. Qualifications Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and communicate managerial expectations clearly. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, cash handling, and retail math calculations. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development programs. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Knowledge of merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, and operational management practices. Basic math skills necessary for bookkeeping, budgeting, and sales analysis. Customer service-oriented mindset with strong phone etiquette and organizational skills. Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous but not required.
