Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team! In this pivotal role, you will support the store management team in driving sales, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Duties Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures Lead and motivate a retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential Conduct employee orientation, training, and development programs to enhance team performance Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints efficiently, and ensure a positive shopping experience Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy and integrity Coordinate purchasing, pricing strategies, and promotional activities in collaboration with management Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in compliance with company policies Assist with budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and other administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones Supervise shift management responsibilities ensuring smooth transitions between staff members Help with health department inspection reviewing and correcting actions. Qualifications Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within the retail industry; retail management experience preferred Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a positive work environment Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems, and retail math Experience with recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development Knowledge of cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and budgeting principles Ability to handle negotiations with vendors or suppliers confidently when purchasing or pricing products Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control and store operations Customer service-oriented mindset with excellent phone etiquette and problem-solving skills Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends as needed for store coverage Salary and Hours are negotiable at interview Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
