Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Lead and motivate the retail sales team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective coaching and training. Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize product visibility and sales. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Support hiring processes by participating in interviewing, employee orientation, and onboarding of new staff. Oversee cash handling procedures, POS system transactions, and payroll processing with accuracy. Maintain operational standards including pricing accuracy, store cleanliness, safety protocols, and compliance with company policies. Skills Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and develop a diverse team. Excellent communication skills, including managerial communication and phone etiquette. Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping principles. Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, and sales management to drive revenue growth. Ability to manage multiple priorities using effective time management and organizational skills. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Experience with retail math, budgeting, merchandising, and operational management is highly desirable.
