Assistant Store Manager

Duties Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service excellence Lead and motivate retail sales teams by providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of employee engagement and productivity Manage employee orientation programs and participate in interviewing prospective team members to build a strong, capable workforce Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and inventory management to maintain accurate records and ensure operational efficiency Supervise cash handling procedures, cashiering activities, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations to guarantee secure transactions Oversee merchandising efforts, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities Coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships to ensure product availability and optimal stock levels Implement marketing initiatives within the store to promote products and enhance customer engagement Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean, organized store environment Support shift management duties by scheduling staff effectively and resolving operational issues promptly Skills Proven experience in retail store management or assistant manager roles with supervisory responsibilities Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a positive work environment Excellent communication skills—bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus—to serve diverse customer bases Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic math for cash handling and sales calculations Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and pricing strategies to drive sales growth Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques, customer service standards, and operational procedures Ability to train employees on store policies, product knowledge, and operational tasks including cashiering and stock management Experience with budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks related to retail operations Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated competency in managing inventory control systems and conducting stock audits Effective managerial communication skills for coaching staff and collaborating with upper management Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store environments is advantageous but not required Join us as an Assistant Store Manager if you’re ready to lead with energy, develop your managerial expertise, and make a meaningful impact on our customers’ shopping experience!
