Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team! Duties Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth shift transitions, and maintaining operational standards. Lead, motivate, and supervise retail sales teams to meet or exceed sales targets through effective coaching, training, and team management. Oversee inventory management activities such as stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and inventory control to optimize product availability. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm, resolving issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction. Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates, employee orientation sessions, and onboarding new team members. Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions including cashiering, cash handling, and processing returns or exchanges efficiently. Assist with administrative tasks such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and maintaining store records to ensure compliance and accuracy. Experience Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry. Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience managing sales teams or retail staff. Strong knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales management, and inventory control. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and manage managerial communication channels. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic bookkeeping practices. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customer bases. Experience in grocery or specialty retail environments is a plus but not required; a background in operational management and customer service is essential.
