Assistant Project Manager Benchmark Metal Services Ponder, TX (North Texas / DFW area) About the Role Benchmark Metal Services (part of WEB Custom Metals) is a custom metal fabrication company specializing in architectural, decorative, and structural metal components for construction projects. We are seeking a driven Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Managers across active jobs. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organizational skills, construction industry experience, and a genuine willingness to work hard. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers with procuring and tracking submittals Coordinate material procurement, including ordering, tracking, and delivery schedules Help manage and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) Support manpower planning and coordination for shop and field activities Organize and process incoming estimates to keep project files current and accurate Assist with monthly billings, including gathering backup documentation and supporting the billing process Maintain clear communication with internal teams, vendors, and project stakeholders Help keep project documentation organized and up to date Requirements Construction industry experience is required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working with estimates, submittals, materials, RFIs, and billing documentation Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to put in the work — this is not a role for someone looking for an easy pace Effective written and verbal communication skills Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets, and document management) Preferred Qualifications Experience in metal fabrication, structural steel, or related construction trades Familiarity with construction project management processes or software Prior experience supporting project managers or working in a preconstruction/project coordination role Work Environment This is a full-time position based at our Ponder, TX facility.
