Assistant Planning Manager Post Harvest

Own the post-harvest planning process from scheduled harvest through drying, bucking, trimming, inventory availability, and sales handoff. Build and maintain weekly and forward-looking forecasts for incoming harvest volume, dry-room capacity, processing throughput, labor demand, and expected completion timing. Translate cultivation forecasts, harvest changes, quality results, and sales priorities into clear and executable post-harvest schedules. Lead weekly cross-functional planning meetings with Post Harvest, Cultivation, Labor, Sales, Quality, Compliance, Track and Trace, Inventory, and other support teams. Confirm decisions, owners, deadlines, and approved schedule changes; ensure affected teams receive timely and accurate updates. Supervise and develop Post Harvest Planning Coordinators, including workload assignment, training, performance feedback, and accountability for recurring planning tasks. Review planning data, work orders, actual completion dates, yields, and inventory status for accuracy and completeness. Identify dry-room, labor, equipment, processing, storage, quality, and sales-priority constraints before they disrupt the plan. Present risks, options, and tradeoffs to the Planning Manager and operating leaders; escalate issues that cannot be resolved within the approved plan. Monitor performance against the forecast and explain meaningful variances in timing, throughput, yield, backlog, and finished-product availability. Maintain standardized planning assumptions, calendars, trackers, reports, and documentation used by the Post Harvest planning process. Develop and improve planning procedures, meeting routines, reporting, and system workflows to increase accuracy, visibility, and follow-through. Support implementation and ongoing use of centralized planning systems, including validation of data and user adoption within the Post Harvest workflow. Partner with management to create, update, and train employees on planning-related standard operating procedures. Use required personal protective equipment and follow all company safety, quality, compliance, and security requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Leadership and Decision Scope Directs the daily priorities and recurring work of assigned Post Harvest Planning Coordinators. Recommends schedule and priority changes based on capacity, timing, inventory, and business needs. Coordinates approved changes across departments and verifies that the planning system reflects the current operating decision. Escalates unresolved conflicts, material forecast risk, and changes with significant downstream impact to the Planning Manager. Critical thinking and structured problem solving with incomplete or changing information. Ability to convert complex operational information into clear schedules, risks, and decisions. High attention to data accuracy, documentation, and process consistency. Ability to coach employees, set expectations, and hold the team accountable. Education and/or Experience Two or more years of experience in production planning, post-harvest operations, manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, or a related operational environment preferred. Previous leadership, lead, supervisory, or project-management experience preferred. Experience in cannabis cultivation or post-harvest operations preferred.
