Assistant Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant General Manager to lead our retail team through busy operational hours with enthusiasm and confidence. In this role, you will oversee daily store activities, ensure exceptional customer service, and manage team performance to drive sales and operational excellence. Responsibilities Supervise daily store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies. Lead, motivate, and develop team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management. Manage customer interactions with professionalism, resolving issues promptly and enhancing overall shopping experiences. Oversee inventory management tasks including stock replenishment, merchandising, and inventory control to maintain product availability. Handle cash register operations, cashiering duties, POS system transactions, and cash handling procedures accurately. Coordinate purchasing activities and assist with pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security protocols while maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Experience Proven supervisory or managerial experience within the retail industry, particularly in sales team management or store operations. Strong background in retail sales, inventory management, merchandising, and operational processes. Demonstrated skills in employee orientation, interviewing potential team members, training & development. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and budgeting. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement. Experience in grocery or retail stores with knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies and sales management. Prior supervising experience in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills and time management capabilities.
