Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Location Manager to join our team and drive operational excellence at our distribution center. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall management of warehouse and logistics activities, ensuring seamless coordination across transportation, inventory, and order fulfillment processes. Your leadership will help optimize productivity, enhance process improvements, and uphold safety standards. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment to meet customer demands efficiently. Support transportation management systems (TMS) for planning, dispatching, and fleet management to ensure timely deliveries. Collaborate on process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies to streamline workflows. Supervise warehouse staff, including warehouse supervisors and team members, providing guidance on safety protocols and operational standards. Manage procurement activities such as purchasing, vendor relations (including 3PL providers), and freight negotiations to optimize costs. Utilize ERP systems like AS400 and warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate inventory management and reporting. Assist in budgeting, demand planning, production scheduling, and supply chain analytics to support strategic decision-making. Skills Proven experience in warehouse supervision with strong understanding of warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, and inventory management. Knowledge of transportation planning, freight management, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and logistics operations. Familiarity with supply chain management principles including procurement, materials management, and demand forecasting. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent; proficiency in supply chain analytics tools is a plus. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Technical knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and inventory control practices. Ability to operate forklifts safely; relevant certifications preferred. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on process improvement initiatives like Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
