Assistant General Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our retail team and drive operational excellence. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service activities Lead and motivate retail staff by providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of employee engagement and productivity Manage employee orientation processes, including interviewing, recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development Supervise shift management to ensure smooth transitions between team members and maintain operational efficiency Oversee inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and stock rotation Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping duties, cash handling procedures, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations with precision Implement effective purchasing strategies and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal product availability and cost control Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing escalated issues promptly and fostering a welcoming shopping environment Support management in budgeting activities, sales management initiatives, and operational planning to meet business goals Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and store procedures at all times Experience Proven managerial experience in retail or a related industry with a focus on store management or assistant manager roles Demonstrated success in supervising teams within a retail sales environment with strong leadership capabilities Extensive knowledge of retail operations including inventory control, merchandising, POS systems, cash handling, and sales management Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued for diverse customer engagement Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development programs Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities such as budgeting, purchasing, and staff scheduling Familiarity with retail math concepts including pricing strategies, sales analysis, and basic financial calculations Ability to handle complex situations involving negotiation with vendors or resolving customer concerns confidently Proficiency in using retail management software systems along with basic bookkeeping tools Join our team as an Assistant General Manager if you’re passionate about leading teams to success while delivering outstanding customer experiences.
