Assistant General Manager

Duties Assist the General Manager in overseeing all store functions, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and staff management Lead daily shift operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service Supervise and motivate retail staff through effective training, coaching, and performance evaluations Manage inventory levels by conducting stock checks, ordering merchandise, and controlling stock replenishment processes Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accurate transactions, cash handling, and pricing accuracy Coordinate employee orientation programs and participate in interviewing prospective team members to build a strong retail sales team Implement merchandising strategies to maximize product visibility and sales opportunities Handle purchasing decisions, budgeting tasks, and payroll processing with precision and attention to detail Maintain excellent communication with staff and customers through phone etiquette, managerial communication skills, and organizational efficiency Ensure compliance with safety policies, store policies, and operational procedures Experience Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team supervision and store operations Demonstrated success in recruiting, training, and developing retail staff to meet performance standards Strong background in inventory management, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS systems operation Experience in negotiating with vendors or suppliers to optimize purchasing terms Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively Familiarity with retail math principles such as pricing strategies, budgeting, and sales analysis Excellent organizational skills coupled with time management expertise to prioritize tasks efficiently Previous assistant manager or supervisory roles within retail environments are preferred Ability to communicate clearly with team members at all levels using effective managerial communication techniques Join us as an Assistant General Manager where your leadership fuels our success!
