Assistant General Manager

Job Description Walton's Southern Table is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and service-oriented Assistant General Manager to support restaurant operations and help deliver an outstanding dining experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to motivate employees while maintaining high standards of food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily activities, supervise staff, coordinate front-of-house and kitchen operations, and support the restaurant's financial and service goals. This role requires a proactive professional who can solve problems, develop team members, and help maintain a welcoming and organized dining environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with overseeing daily restaurant operations. Supervise front-of-house employees and support kitchen coordination. Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and professional service. Address guest concerns and resolve complaints promptly and respectfully. Help recruit, onboard, train, and develop restaurant team members. Prepare employee schedules and coordinate shift assignments. Monitor staff performance and provide constructive coaching. Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and service standards. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout the restaurant. Support compliance with food safety, workplace safety, and applicable health regulations. Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and supply replenishment. Monitor labor costs, food waste, and operating expenses. Review sales reports and help achieve restaurant performance goals. Support cash-handling procedures, point-of-sale operations, and shift reporting. Coordinate opening, closing, and shift-handover procedures. Communicate operational updates and priorities to employees. Assist with special events, promotions, and guest arrangements as needed. Encourage teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture. Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction. Step into leadership responsibilities when the General Manager is unavailable. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience in restaurant management, hospitality supervision, or a similar leadership role. Strong leadership, communication, and team-management abilities. Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills. Knowledge of restaurant operations and dining service standards. Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures. Familiarity with inventory control, scheduling, and cost management. Ability to review sales figures and operational reports. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional attitude, reliability, and a hands-on approach to leadership.
