Position Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented, trend-savvy Assistant Buyer to join our buying and merchandising team. In this role, you will work closely with the Buyer/Merchandiser to support the selection, buying, and performance tracking of our apparel lines. You will serve as the operational backbone of the buying and merchandising department, creating buys and managing on order, analyzing sales data, partnering with Product, Sales, and DTC teams, and managing product samples. We are looking for someone that loves product, but also the analytics, in tune with the customer while staying ahead of market trends to maximize sales and profitability. What You’ll Do Participate in all key product milestones Analyze weekly sales performance, inventory levels, and sell-through rates to identify top performers and underperforming styles. Prepare weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales reports to support buying strategy decisions. Assort and create seasonal buys and prepare on order linesheets and seasonal product reviews Partner with the Planning on a regular basis to review buys, open-to-buy, markdown and replenishment, chase or cancel strategies Monitor product delivery schedules and update cross-functional teams of any changes Assist the Buyer in preparing for key milestone meetings like hindsights and line reviews. Work with Marketing & E-Commerce to ensure product features, images, and descriptions are accurate for promotional campaigns. Coordinate with Site Merchandising to align with current assortment strategies and key product features Track retail fashion trends, market shifts, and competitor offerings to identify new product opportunities. Manage, organize, track and coordinate all product samples for cross-function use Who You Are Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 1–3 years of experience in retail, buying, merchandising, or inventory planning (apparel retail experience strongly preferred). Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and retail management software. Analytical Mindset: Strong comfort level with numbers, basic retail math (markup, margin, sell-through, turns), and sales analysis. Fashion Acumen: High interest in retail apparel trends, consumer buying patterns, and product development. Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume data Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven retail environment.
