Concrete Technology CorporationJOB SUMMARY The incumbent will assist the Production Staff Manager in providing professional direction to the management group on purchasing strategies. The position will ensure that Corporate policies and procedures in the purchasing area are effectively implemented. The incumbent will assist in long range planning, value analysis and setting cost-saving goals, including supervises inventory levels. Buyer manages all vendor managed inventory in the warehouse, maintaining correct minimum/maximum levels. SCOPE AND IMPACT OF THE POSITION The success of the purchasing activity is directly related to the profitability of the Company. Because this position is called upon for advice, individual credibility is of the utmost importance. This position requires interfacing with Company employees’ company-wide, as well as outside vendors, thus necessitating effective communication capabilities both written and oral. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all purchasing functions including evaluation per manager implemented procedures. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with Vendors as a primary Company representative. Purchases hardware, MRO, safety supplies, miscellaneous shop supplies, Exceedra materials, Costco/janitorial and kitchen needs, along with managing most company credit card purchases. Uses appropriate judgment and integrity in all purchasing decisions and establishes a high standard of conduct. Receives Purchase Requisitions from Project Managers, Plant Engineers, Foremen and other Company personnel. Obtains pricing and lead time information as necessary to make informed and cost-effective purchasing decisions. Issues Purchase Orders as necessary for securing requisitioned materials, equipment or services and inventory. Responsible for expediting all orders as required for timely delivery. Coordinates incoming traffic of major materials and adds big deliveries to delivery calendar. Maintains supplier/manufacturer library and updates as required. Maintains computer vendor database. Stamps, reviews, and processes all certification documents received from buyers, ensuring records are accurate and properly maintained. Tool Watch administrative help (Load Parts, Employee Information, ext.) Support the Warehouse by assisting in the write ups for BOL'S for shipping Process new SOS sheets for new product purchases. Assist in tracking Warehouse repair items. Assists Accounting in reconciling vendor invoices as required. SPECIAL NOTES AND CONDITIONS (Outside work, travel, exceptional hours, etc.) Some work may require presence in the concrete manufacturing plant. Location is at CTC’s premises, except for local travel as required in support of customers. CTC does not offer telecommuting.
