ASSEMBLY & SHIPPING OPERATOR Department: Assembly / Shipping & Receiving Reports to: Production Manager / Shipping Lead POSITION SUMMARY Performs assembly work of metal product and supports shipping, receiving, inventory, packaging, and material handling. Balances daily priorities to produce quality parts, maintain accurate records, and meet production and customer delivery schedules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES · Assemble simple and complex parts; operate equipment and follow blueprints, travelers, and work instructions. · Inspect and measure parts; maintain quality, production counts, labels, and traceability records. · Record production time, completed quantities, and rejects accurately in company systems. · Package, wrap, label, and prepare finished goods; verify quantities and complete packing lists and shipping paperwork. · Review shipping schedules; coordinate pickups, deliveries, outsourced services, and customer shipments. · Receive materials, update inventory transactions, transfer Kanban goods, and monitor containers and shipping supplies. · Load, unload, and move materials using authorized forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment. · Perform local deliveries or vendor pickups when assigned; maintain vehicle logs and follow vehicle policies. · Communicate job status, shortages, equipment issues, and quality concerns; coordinate with other departments. · Maintain safe, clean, organized work areas; follow company policies, ISO procedures, and 5S+1 practices. QUALIFICATIONS · High school diploma or GED preferred; manufacturing, assembly, or shipping experience preferred. · Ability to read prints and travelers, use basic shop math and measuring tools, and work with computer systems. · Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, reliability, and ability to shift priorities. · Forklift/crane authorization required before operation; valid driver license and required permits for driving duties. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Meet quality, productivity, safety, and on-time delivery standards; maintain accurate records and dependable attendance; assist in either department as business needs require.
