The Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) Driver A is an advanced-level operator responsible for high-production hauling operations. This operator demonstrates expert control of the machine, strong jobsite awareness, and the ability to maintain efficient cycle times in challenging terrain and conditions while supporting earthwork and utility operations. Operate an articulated dump truck with a high level of skill, efficiency, and safety Maintain excellent cycle times and production without constant direction Coordinate seamlessly with excavator operators, loaders, dozers, and grade crews Navigate steep grades, tight haul roads, mud, and rough terrain confidently Dump material accurately to grade to reduce rework by dozers and graders Identify haul road issues and communicate improvements to supervisors Perform thorough daily inspections and proactively report maintenance needs Maintain equipment cleanliness, fueling, and care Follow and model all jobsite safety standards and communication practices Qualifications Extensive experience operating articulated dump trucks in earthwork environments Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong understanding of jobsite production flow and haul efficiency Excellent communication with crew and equipment operators Valid driver’s license required Skills & Competencies Expert machine control and situational awareness High production mindset with safe operating practices Ability to work effectively in adverse ground and weather conditions Leadership by example in safety and equipment care Strong judgment and decision-making in active jobsite conditions Work Environment Outdoor construction sites in varying weather and terrain Exposure to dust, noise, mud, steep grades, and active excavation Working around multiple pieces of heavy equipment Physical Requirements Ability to climb in and out of equipment multiple times per day Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment Ability to perform inspections requiring bending, climbing, and walking Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to the Superintendent/Foreman ABOUT US: Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Birmingham, AL, T.E.
