Area Manager, Quality Control

In this role, you’ll lead Quality Control (QC) operations within a fast-paced Distribution Center, helping ensure products meet Walmart’s quality, food safety, and operational standards. You’ll combine people leadership, operational execution, and data-driven decision-making to improve performance, develop associates, and keep product moving safely and efficiently. About the Team The QC team plays a critical role in protecting product quality and supporting smooth Distribution Center operations. You’ll work closely with QC associates, Supply Chain teams, Operations leaders, and other partners to manage inbound priorities, maintain compliance, solve problems, and continuously improve how the team operates. What you'll do... Lead daily QC operations across the floor and office, ensuring alignment with quality, food safety, and commodity standards. Manage cold chain compliance, inbound HACCP processes, operational audits, and key QC metrics. Use tools such as SharePoint, Tableau, and Power BI to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and provide actionable reporting. Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to prioritize inbound deliveries and plan for workload and staffing needs. Lead, coach, and develop associates through training, feedback, recognition, accountability, and succession planning. Oversee specialized processes including banana ripening, cooler walks, inventory, supplies, inspections, and audits. Lead daily startup meetings and clearly communicate performance expectations, operational priorities, and business updates. Identify process improvements and help implement solutions that improve quality, accuracy, and operational effectiveness. What You’ll Bring Strong people leadership with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable. Knowledge of quality control, warehouse operations, food safety, or supply chain processes. Confidence using data and reporting tools to identify trends and drive decisions. Strong communication and relationship-building skills across frontline and leadership teams. The ability to balance multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-moving operational environment.
