AR Specialist/Purchasing Asst

Job Summary The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for accounting duties outside the scope of the general ledger including cash handling and preparation of basic/monthly reports. Qualifications and Requirements Associate’s Degree Minimum of five years’ experience in a cash/accounting environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and to be accurate, efficient, and organized. Excellent customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and easily learns other applications as needed. Description Essential Functions Cash Reconciles petty cash, ensures sufficient cash available for front desk change fund. Reconciles credit card report to credit card vendor Reconciles daily cash to cash deposits for all sites between Abila and ECW Prepares cash deposits Deposits checks through check reader Reporting Enters in daily log and reconciles schedules Enter cash journals into Abila EFT List Monthly reconciliation report Notify supervisor of any cash discrepancies Mail Opens/sorts mail Restrictively endorses all checks to HFHC Logs all checks Enters receivables into Abila Prepares deposit in duplicate: Original to bank Copy to accounting Other Assists with audit schedule preparation Maintain communication to office coordinators & pharmacy for front desk cash needs Coordinate with courier for bank deposits and change requests Provide support to other accounting associates as needed Performs other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Frequent sitting at a desk for office work. Occasional driving of automobiles for outside appointments and meetings. Continuous use of corrected vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, and color. Also, the job will demand continuous use of olfactory, auditory, and tactile senses. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. Duties require attention to detail, alertness, problem-solving, tolerance to stress, and exercising sound judgment This employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 30 pounds. Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies, and other work site materials according to position requirements.
